CALL FOR ENTRIES The 1st Oesol International Typography Award in Korea
먼저 본 공모전 요강에 있는 정보와 규칙는 등을 자세히 읽고 이해한 후에 출품할 작품의에 해당하는 적절한 카테고리를 선택한다.
작품을 담을 템플릿 파일을 다운로드하고 여러 카타고리에 행당하는 샘플 화일을 보고 구성방식을 참조하여 본인의 작품을 이 템플릿에 배치한다 (A1 사이즈 세로로 정렬된 AI 파일). 파일 이름은 "성_이름_작품번호.pdf"의 포맷으로 지정 한다.
작품 파일이 준비되면 Google 등록 양식 링크로 이동합니다. 참가 카테고리를 선택하고 양식에 필요한 모든 정보를 입력한다. 그런 다음 작품 파일(3가지 버전)과 인물사진 파일을 첨부한다.
How to Enter:
The entries must be submitted via the online submission form. There is no entry fee, and entries that are not completed in the form provided will not be considered. Entry forms can be filled out directly on the online form found on the Oesol International Typography Award website (https://www.oesoltypo.org) and submitted with a data of artwork. Any changes will be posted on the website as soon as they are determined. Please also refer to the website for other updates on entry guidelines, timelines, and jury information.
Entry Fee:
Entry to the competition is free of charge. OITA office will cover all costs for the planning, organization, and running of the competition.
Sign up/competition conditions of entry:
Participants may only apply for participation through the dedicated form (online electronic Google Form) provided by the Organizer's website by the established deadline. The required biographical and artistic details of the designer must be filled in without omission, and paintings that do not meet the required specifications will not be considered. By participating in the competition, the participant acknowledges the conditions set forth in these rules. It is accepted in principle that no objections can be made to the judging process and decisions, and that the decisions of the organizers are final.
Professional designers may submit works in a studio (collaborative) or individual capacity. The works must have been created within the last three years, and each applicant may submit a maximum of three individual projects (works) per person. Each entry must be submitted as a single work, and can be a series or different thematic works. All typographic works, including experimental works based on purely personal concepts, are eligible for submission in the two categories below.
Entry Specifications and Format:
The competition is open to typography-oriented graphic design works organized in a flat (poster) format with the following technical content.
- Artwork submission: Use the online artwork submission form.
- Artwork size: A1 size (594 x 841 mm) in portrait layout; each piece must not exceed 50 MB, and submitted pieces will not be returned.
- Color: Entries must be created in CMYK or RGB color mode.
- File format: Must be saved in PDF or JPG image format.
- Resolution and capacity: Must be at least 250 dpi resolution and no larger than 50 MB.
- File naming: Last name_First name_work#.pdf
- All lettering must be submitted and converted to outlined objects.
- Links to all image elements used in the artwork must be included in the PDF to be edited or printed without problems.
Eligibility:
We encourage creative activities in typography design to establish the image of Ulsan as a character city as part of the Oesol Hanmadang Festival and to discover excellent typography designers; the contest is open to works designed by professional agencies, designers, educators, and university students without any special qualifications, as long as the designers are active in the design community, industry, and school.
Deadline:
All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST on September 9, 2023. Late entries after the deadline will not be accepted.
Submission Information:
When submitting work to a competition, entrants must specify the category in which the judges will judge the entry. In some cases, the Competition Organizer will review the design work received to ensure that it is entered into the correct category and may assign it to a different category in consultation with the entrant. The judges will make the final decision on category classification. All applicants should refer to the entry requirements and entry rules at the end of this document.

응모 방법:
모든 응모작은 온라인 제출 양식으로 제출. 참가비는 무료이며, 제공된 양식으로 작성하지 않은 출품작은 심사에서 제외하며 출품 양식은 외솔 국제 타이포그래피공모전 웹사이트(https://www.oesoltypo.org)에 안내되어 있는 온라인 폼에 직접 작성하고 작품화일을 제출하면 된다. 변경 사항이 있을 경우 결정되는 즉시 웹사이트에 공지합니다. 또한 출품 가이드라인, 일정 및 심사위원 정보에 대한 기타 업데이트는 웹사이트를 참조하기 바란다.
참가비:
대회 참가비는 무료이다. 공모전의 기획, 조직 및 운영에 대한 모든 비용은 OITA 사무국에서 부담한다.
참가 신청/참가 조건:
참가자는 반드시 정해진 마감일까지 주최측의 웹사이트를 통하여 제공한 전용 양식(온라인 전자 방식의 구글 폼)을 통해서만 참가 신청이 가능하다. 필요한 디자이너의 인적 그리고 작품에 관한 세부 정보는 누락되지 않고 반드시 기입되어야 하며 정해진 규격에 맞지 않는 화일은 심사 대상에서 제외된다. 대회에참가함으로써 참가자는 본 규칙에 명시된 조건을 인정하는 것으로 간주한다. 심사과정과 결정 사항에 대한 이의를 제기 할 수 없으며 주최측의 결정에 최종적으로 동의 함을 원칙으로 접수한다.
전문 디자이너는 스튜디오 (공동 작업) 또는 개인 자격으로 작품을 제출할 수 있다. 작품은 최근 3년 이내에 제작된 것이어야 하며, 각 지원자는 1인당 최대 3개의 개별 프로젝트(작품)를 제출할 수 있다. 각 출품작은 하나의 화일로 제출하여야 하며 시리즈 혹은 각기 다른 주제의 작품을 출품할 수 있다. 순수한 개인콘셉트를 기반으로 하는 실험 작품을 포함하는 모든 타이포그래피 작품은 아래의 두가지 카테고리에 출품이 가능하다.
출품 규격 및 형식:
본 공모전은 타이포그래피 중심의 그래픽 디자인 작품을 평면(포스터) 형식으로 구성하여 다음과 같은 기술적 내용을 바탕으로 출품할 수 있다.
- 작품 제출: 온라인 작품 출품양식을 사용한다.
- 작품 화일 크기: A1 사이즈 (가로 594 x 세로 841mm)
세로형 레이아웃으로 각 작품의 용량은 50MB를 초과해서는 안되며,
출품된 작품은 반환되지 않는다.
- 색상: CMYK 또는 RGB 컬러 모드 작성되어야 한다.
- 파일 형식: PDF 혹은 JPG 화일 포맷으로 저장해야 한다.
- 해상도 및 용량: 300dpi 이상의 해상도의 화일로 50MB의 용량을 넘지 안아야 한다
- 화일 이름 지정: 성_이름_작품 번호.pdf
- 모든 글자는 윤곽선이 있는 개체로 변환한 상태로 제출해야 한다.
- 작품에 사용된 모든 이미지 요소의 링크는 반드시 PDF포함되어서 화일의 편집 혹은 출력에 문제가 없어야 한다.
마감일:
모든 출품작은 2023년 9월 9일 오후 11시 59분(CST)까지 제출해야 한다. 마감 시간을 넘긴 늦은 출품작은 접수되지 않는다.

자격:
외솔한글한마당 축제 일환으로 문자도시 울산의 이미지를 정착시키기 위해 타이포그래피 디자인의 창작 활동을 장려하고, 우수한 타이포그래피 디자이너를 발굴하기 위해 국가, 지역, 성별을 제한하지 않으며, 디자인 커뮤니티, 업계 및/또는 학교에서 활동 중인 디자이너라면 특별한 자격 요건없이 전문 에이전시, 디자이너, 교육자 및/또는 대학생이 디자인한 작품을 대상으로 한다.
제출 정보:
대회에 작품을 출품할 때 참가자는 심사위원단이 출품작을 심사할 카테고리를 지정해야 한다. 경우에 따라서는 대회 주최자는 접수된 디자인 작품이 올바른카테고리에 응모되었는지 검토하고 응모자와 협의하여 다른 카테고리에 배정할 수도 있다. 카테고리 분류에 대한 최종 결정은 심사위원단이 내릴 수 있다. 모든 지원자는 본 문서 끝부분의 참가 요건 및 참가 규칙을 참고하길 바란다.
